Where there’s a will there’s a way — and in Yarroweyah, where there are Wilsons there’s half a football team.

For Yarroweyah Football Netball Club, it’s like a dream come to life.

With ages ranging from four to 13, the Wilson boys pull on the Hoppers guernsey to play for the club’s fifths.

Asten, JJ, Will, Dillon, Archer, Chase, Finny, Harvey and Jasper make up half the side, with Will and JJ also stepping up to play fourths.

Grandfather Grant Wilson coaches the cousins, adding an extra layer of pride and tradition to the boys’ already remarkable journey.

His support means the world to them, knowing that they carry on a legacy of passion for the game within the family.

With Grant’s backing, their bond on the field grows even stronger, fuelling their determination to make him proud with every match they play.

The club describes itself as “a hidden gem in the heart of the community”.

“It’s not just a club, it’s a family, a place where dreams are shared, victories are celebrated and lifelong memories are made,” the club’s Ellis Sibraa said.

“The bond they share goes beyond just playing the game, it’s a reflection of their roots and a testament to the power of sports in bringing people together.”

And young cousins in particular.
