One of Cobram’s favourite sons will take to Goulburn Valley Bush Bash League again this season, with Adam De Cicco set to captain the CPW Panthers.

Fresh off an impressive year with Cobram in Murray Football League and in fine form for Cobram in Murray Valley Cricket Association, De Cicco will be sure to provide plenty of entertainment for the Panthers’ faithful.

Speaking ahead of the latest GVBBL season, De Cicco said he was excited about the competition returning.

“I think it’s a great purpose to show off a bit of talent in the area and it’s even better when I’ve got a couple of the Cobram boys playing with me in the same team,” De Cicco said.

“I’m definitely looking forward to it.”

With plenty of talent spread across the league, including former Australian international James Pattinson, De Cicco said it was unreal to have such big names choosing to ply their trade in the country.

"Everyone will probably try and get to those games when Pattinson can play so everyone can watch him,“ he said.

“I’m definitely excited, it’s always good learning from the best and he is probably one of the best too, so everyone is excited just to play against and with him.”

The Panthers will play their only home game for the season on January 15 at Cobram Showgrounds and De Cicco could not wait to play in front of the home faithful.

“I think last time we held it in Cobram we had the biggest crowd out of everywhere,” he said.

“We had a great crowd last time, so we’re hoping to get a really good crowd and that everyone is going to come down and support us, it should be a good day.”

Set to captain the side with assistance from James Seymour, De Cicco said the competition was all about having a bit of fun.

“I think everyone just wants to play and have a bit of fun,” he said.

“If we go out there, win a couple of games and make it to the finals and win it then, yeah, that’d be great, but we’re just going out there and having a bit of fun."
