Echuca has continued its dominant start to midweek pennant action after round three action on Tuesday.
The defending champion has picked up where it left off last season, posting three impressive wins to start its campaign.
The side’s latest victory came in the form of a dominant 16-80 to 0-42 thrashing of Deniliquin at Echuca Bowls Club.
Kerryn Evans skipped the home side to a huge result in her rink, leading her side of Di Payne (lead), Michelle Cunnington (second) and Philip Thorn (third) to a 33-12 win in their rink.
Fellow skips Kaye Barker and Roma Opie also grabbed comfortable wins in a comprehensive performance from Echuca.
Stanhope trails Echuca after a round two bye, but also maintained an undefeated start 14-54 to 2-47 over Rochester.
Stanhope’s Jennifer Crilly had the biggest win for her side, 22-14, while Jamie Stokes also picked up points.
Rochy’s Rob Dennis managed to prevent the whitewash, taking his rink 19-13.
The remaining match of the round saw a tight battle between Mathoura, 14-57, and Rich River, 2-52.
The Cutters squad did enough to overcome the efforts of Rich River’s Dennis Demeo, who skipped his side to a 25-10 win in his rink.
Mathoura’s Dennis McHarry tipped the scales back towards Mathoura with a strong win of his own, 27-13, while Peter Pangrazio got by Elizabeth Easther 20-15 to secure two more points, and the overall match for the Cutters.
Moama had the bye in division one.
Division two
Rich River handled Ky Valley View 16-79 to 0-47.
All three rinks went the way of Rich River in comfortable fashion, skip Allan Linquist’s 28-14 the biggest of the tie.
Echuca and Deniliquin RSL shared the points, with the Echuca’s two rink victory earning it a slight edge in competition points 9-60, to 7-60.
Moama scored big against Rochester, dominating each rink in a 16-83 to 0-35 victory.
Skip Kevin Connolly’s rink stood out in a brilliant team performance from Moama, his side restricting Rochy’s scoring in a 33-9 rink win.
Division three and four
In division three, Elmore took down Lockington 14-57 to 0-33, Deniliquin RSL snuck by Echuca 12-36 to 2-33, and Moama proved too strong for Tongala Red 12-40 to 2-30.
In division four, Rich River beat Lockington 14-39 to 0-26, Echuca defeated Rochester 12-42 to 2-25, and Stanhope overpowered Tongala Red 14-56 to 0-32.
