It took 11-year-old Emma Moyle just one delivery to settle into life as a senior cricketer, joining the first ball, first wicket club in her debut for Echuca Green at the weekend.

Moyle sent Nagambie skipper Kait Carracher packing first up before adding another two wickets to her collection, ending with a game-high 3-13.

It was an impressive spell among an excellent bowling performance from Echuca at Nagambie Reserve, with Olivia Hooper’s 2-4 also going a long way to bundling out the Lakers for 55 runs.

It was a total Echuca openers Gillian Noelker and Amy Cooper had no issue chasing down, passing in the 11th over for a 10-wicket win.

The big win has seen the side jump into second place, hard on the tail of the unbeaten Mooroopna, although the Cats kept Echuca at bay with an eight-wicket victory against Rochester.

Imogen Kath staged a defiant 16-run innings for the home side at Rochester Recreation Reserve, but Mooroopna’s bowlers, led by Ebony Sleeth (4-6), restricted Rochy to 46 runs, passed in the 12th over.

Echuca White pulled itself back onto the winners’ list with a tight victory over Cooma, its second of the season.

Olivia Davy, with 17 runs and 11 each to Jordan Dalziel and Isla Laffy, helped Echuca to a score of 7-78, and a committed Cooma took the run chase to the last over.

But some sublime bowling from Davy with 3-1 off her three overs and tight bowling at the top from Laffy and Dalziel saw Echuca safely home.

At Nathalia Reserve, Bamawm-Lockington United was led gallantly by Bree Styles with 2-26 and 16 runs, but the Lions were no match for an in-form Nathalia, who won by 65 runs.
