Echuca Moama’s A-grade men’s side has suffered its third defeat of the Goulburn Valley Hockey Association season.

The locals went down to SYC in round six, defeated 4-1 on Saturday.

William Kerr got on the scoresheet for Echuca Moama, but it wasn’t enough for his side to claim a victory.

The result opens up a gap in the centre of the table, with Echuca Moama now trailing SYC by five points with half of the season elapsed.

E-M will have a chance to rebound when it takes on last-placed Mooroopna on Sunday.

The Echuca Moama women had the bye this week but look to be in good stead, on top of the table two-thirds of the way through the 15-round season.

The side is undefeated through eight matches having conceded just three goals while scoring 40.

It takes on fourth-placed Benalla on Saturday.

The under-12s remain winless after a 5-17 loss to Strikers. Jack Thompson scored three goals for Echuca Moama while Murray Park also scored.
