The final round of the Goulburn Murray Junior League regular season produced a corker between Mooroopna and Echuca in the under-16s on Sunday.

Murray Bombers staved off a late charge by the host at Mooroopna Recreation Reserve to clinch a 10.6 (66) to 8.8 (56) triumph, stamped by five goals from Echuca’s Liam Gronow.

Mooroopna’s William Emanuelli also returned five majors in the top-of-the-table bout, which pushes the Bottle Greens into pole position on 44 points.

In the division’s other matches, Oscar Lambourn piled on nine majors during Shepp Notre Gold’s 83-point dusting of Shepparton Swans, while Kyabram prevailed 13.6 (84) to 4.10 (34) over Shepp Notre Maroon.
