The race to the finals is about to hit fever pitch in the midweek pennant division one Edna Harling Shield, with a number of high-quality matches taking place across the region in round 12.

The headline act came from the East Shepparton Bowls Club, as the Eagles outlasted a brave Tatura-Hill Top squad 14-72 to 2-67 to solidify their position in third spot on the ladder.

Winning two of the three rinks, the victory was set up by the efforts of Graeme Barber in rink two, who orchestrated a dominant 28-10 triumph.

The Bulldogs did get some joy out of Rod Madill’s performance in rink three, with his 33-16 victory seeing them get within five shots of the in-form East Shepparton side.

Elsewhere, ladder-leader Kyabram was stunned by a fifth-placed Euroa squad, who secured a thrilling 14-73 to 2-69 win on its home green.

Shepparton Golf claimed its seventh win of the season in the form of a 14-72 to 2-56 victory over Seymour.

Meanwhile Rushworth was too good for Shepparton Park, sweeping the rinks to come away with a 16-67 to 0-52 win.
