Kyabram Football Netball Club will have three football sides and one netball side contesting knockout football clashes when the Goulburn Valley League finals get under way this weekend.
The Bombers face Mooroopna in the seniors and Shepparton Swans in both the reserves and thirds clashes.
All games are at Mooroopna with the Kyabram senior side locked into an evening game under lights starting a 5.15pm.
The under-18s will play at 12.15pm and the reserves at 2.45pm.
The club’s under-17 netballers will be in action at Echuca on Sunday.
The choice of Mooroopna as the venue for the senior football game has bemused but not fazed Kyabram co-coach Corey Carver.
“It is what it is but I was under the impression final venues weren’t decided until after the home-and-away season so neutral venues could be allocated to the finalists where possible,” Carver said.
“I believe the club presidents agreed on that and that’s why they (GVL board) wait to the last minute to make their choices.”
But Carver said apart from maybe an advantage of training and playing under their own lights may be a slight advantage for the Cats, he wouldn’t be losing any sleep over it.
‘‘If you’re good enough, you will win anywhere,’’ he said.
It will be the 10th year in succession the Bombers’ seniors play finals.
Kyabram’s under-18s booked their spot in the finals last Saturday in uncanny circumstances.
They put up a spirited but losing performance against second-placed Shepparton, but held their spot in sixth place by a miniscule 0.14 per cent — the equivalent of three behinds — from Rochester, which had a big win over Shepparton United.
