Mansfield will be without one of its star on-ballers for this weekend’s crucial Goulburn Valley League clash against Seymour.
Frazer Dale will miss Saturday’s round five contest against the Lions after he received a one-match suspension at Wednesday night’s tribunal hearing.
Dale, who missed the opening two rounds of the season due to suspension, was reported in the first quarter of the win over Benalla for striking another player. He received a yellow card by the umpire.
His case was referred directly to the tribunal due to his recent history in the previous 12 months and the tribunal handed down a one-match penalty.
Benalla opponent Josh Mellington also faced the tribunal on Wednesday after he was cited by the match-review panel for striking another player.
Due to his poor record in the past 12 months he was referred directly to the tribunal.
Mellington was not charged by the tribunal and is free to lace up the boots on Saturday at home against Shepparton United.
Meanwhile, two junior footballers faced the tribunal during the week following reports out of last weekend’s Goulburn Murray Junior League clash between Shepparton-Notre and Echuca in the under-16 division one competition.
A Shepparton-Notre player and Echuca player were reported for striking.
Due to the volume of strikes by each player in the incident, both reports were sent straight to the tribunal.
Both players were found guilty and each received a one-match suspension.
Lastly, the tribunal will sit tonight and another hearing has been rescheduled for next week.
