The Cobram Crocs’ Goulburn Murray Lawn Tennis Association GM2 side were in dangerous form on Saturday, securing their second win of the season.

Coming up against the Shepparton Lawn Blues, the Crocs ran rampant, with a 9-70 to 2-31 result.

Unfortunately for Cobram’s GM3 side things were not as successful, with the side falling to the Tatura Hurricanes, 12-99 to 1-44.

The young side picked up a close 7-8 win in the final rubber of the day, with Harry and Olivia Campbell downing their opponents.

Cobram Lawn Tennis Club president David Bate, who played for the GM2 team, said it was good to pick up a win.

“It was just good to get back out there and start playing again,” Bate said.

“It was good to get a decent team in there and play some good tennis.”

Providing an update on how the club was going, Bate explained that weather had caused issues in recent weeks.

“It’s been a tough start to the year in terms of getting traction with the weather,” he said.

“Like every sport it’s just held us up a fair bit."

With competitive tennis on Tuesday evening and Thursday night social tennis now under way, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved across the summer.
