Some of Cricket Shepparton’s best under-17 talent battled New Zealand outfit Suburbs New Lynn on Thursday in an enticing encounter.

The match at Shepparton’s Deakin Reserve had plenty of wickets tumble across the day, with the home side starting brightly.

A rare chance to play against a team from another country, much of the Cricket Shepparton line-up will represent the region’s under-16 team in the upcoming Cricket Victoria Country Week.

News photographer Megan Fisher got down to Deakin Reserve to capture the action.
