An impressive Cricket Shepparton under-13 line-up showed its class on December 30, picking up a win over New Zealand side Suburbs New Lynn at Deakin Reserve.

Downing the tourists by eight wickets, Shepparton sent its opponents into bat before dismissing the team for 144 after 40 overs and chasing it down in 31.3 overs.

Standing out with the ball was Shepparton’s Jackson Crouch (3-2) and Nate Yze (2-9), while with the bat Xavier Waters (28), Callum O’Dwyer (27) and Toby Keady (26) stood out for the home side.

News photographer Monique Preston attended the exhibition match last Friday and captured plenty of action.
