Christmas is still a fortnight away, but Goulburn Valley Playing Area’s midweek pennant matches served up some early gifts on Tuesday.
Edna Harling Shield surprise packet Euroa slayed its second giant in as many weeks, taking down juggernaut Kyabram a week on from its beating of Shepparton Golf.
Euroa has proved electric on home greens in the past two weeks and that became apparent as the sixth-ranked side toppled second-placed Kyabram 14-67 to 2-62.
Ken Sutcliffe and Shane Drysdale each skipped the host to victories, while Noel Reddrop commandeered Kyabram’s sole rink win during a loss that leaves the Bombers two points shy of leader Tallygaroopna.
The Redlegs had the edge over Tatura-Hill Top 14-65 to 2-58, while third-placed Shepparton Park was bested by rival Shepparton Golf, 15 shots the margin.
Lastly, the other division one fixture went Seymour’s way, the host holding on for a 14-57 to 2-52 win.
News photographer Megan Fisher was on hand to snap the division five match between Mooroopna and East Shepparton.
