Gallery | Edna Harling Shield race remains hotly-contested as 2024 bowls calendar concludes
Local bowlers have earned themselves a break, with the Goulburn Valley Playing Area’s midweek contenders the last to wrap up their calendars.
Tuesday’s round nine Edna Harling Shield action saw a continuation of one of the more fascinating races for places anywhere in the local divisions, with matters at the top end remaining tight.
Tallygaroopna was at least able to stick its neck out in front before the festive break up, removing Seymour from the current top four in the process with a tight 12-62 to 4-60 triumph.
Very little was coming easily around the grounds as the jostling continued, with Shepparton Golf swooping into the finals places after overcoming Tatura-Hill Top 14-63 to 2-52.
East Shepparton came roaring to life, though, notching its third win of the season in utterly ruthless fashion at the expense of Euroa, 16-95 to 0-36.
Finally, Shepparton Park and Kyabram collided at the Kialla complex in our featured contest at which News photographer Rechelle Zammit was on hand, where the host found a way to prevail and snatch second in a 14-60 to 2-56 victory.
