Lower-grade bowls action was tight and exciting at the weekend.

The penultimate round of lower division bowls in Goulburn Valley Playing Area arrived, with a preliminary final highlighting the weekend’s play.

Euroa hosted Shepparton Park on Saturday afternoon for the division four preliminary final at Shepparton Golf Bowling Club.

The host got off to a blistering start as Euroa secured the first rink 27-18, led by skip Richard Noble.

Euroa then doubled down on its momentum in the second rink, winning the contest 32-16.

Shepparton Park fought back hard in the third rink while being led by skipper Lorraine Nicholls to win the bout 14-21.

However, Euroa proved too mighty in the final rink as it finished the match with a dominant display.

Euroa won the fourth rink 34-16.

After winning the match 16-107 to 2-71, Euroa moves on to face Alexandra in the division four grand final on Saturday at Hill Top Bowling Club.
