Goulburn Murray Junior Football League has returned for the 2024 season.

Thirteen competitions kicked off at the weekend with junior teams from across the Goulburn Murray taking part as players — from under-9 through to under-16 — with dreams of one day making the big time taking the next step in their footballing journey.

In the under-16 competition, the first of four grading rounds were played with 14 teams (Echuca Murray Bombers had a bye) trying their best to prove they are the top junior side in the area.

In a tight Sunday junior football clash, Mooroopna’s under-16 side took home the chocolates with an eight-point win over Shepparton-Notre Bears Maroon.

News photographer Rechelle Zammit was on hand to capture the action.
