Goals, graft and gamesmanship rubber stamped the recent pre-season clash between Goulburn Valley Suns and Shepparton South.
The Suns, suiting up for their third hit-out of the summer, were a cut above a South side only weeks into its training regime as the Orangemen ran out 6-0 winners at McEwen Reserve on Saturday.
Brandon Giaccherini struck the first of the afternoon with an effort lasered from outside the box, putting the Suns 1-0 ahead at the break.
The floodgates opened in the second half with Giaccherini completing his hat-trick, while Matthew Lelliott, Darcy Pawlik and Elijah Brooker struck the back of the net.
Action resumes at McEwen Reserve this Saturday when an exhibition match between Melbourne powerhouses Preston Lions and Dandenong City arrives at 2pm.
