Below are some of the highlights from Saturday’s action you may have missed.

News photographer Megan Fisher attended the C-grade contest between Karramomus and Murchison and captured plenty of action.

Dawson’s day out

Numurkah B-grade captain Sean Dawson won’t forget Saturday’s classic 14-run win over Katandra anytime soon.

Dawson claimed a hat-trick to help seal his side’s stunning victory over the Eagles.

With Katandra needing 27 runs to claim victory from five overs, Dawson went for seven runs from the first four balls of his fourth over before he claimed two wickets in consecutive deliveries.

The Eagles, with one wicket in hand, edged closer to victory with six more runs in the following over and looked set to pull off a miracle.

Until Dawson returned to the scene for the start of his fifth over.

His hat-trick ball was a jaffer and it skittled the stumps of the Katandra batter which helped seal victory.

Earlier in the match Dawson brought up a half-century with a classy 71 from 121 deliveries.

It was a case of what could have been for the Eagles with Dawson dropped twice during his innings.

Are you Keating me?

Every so often a cricketer seems to enjoy a day where everything goes right for them, and on Saturday Jake Keating had one of those days.

The Karramomus quick could do nothing wrong as his side ripped through Shepparton United in their B-grade encounter to have United all out for 35.

Keating was chief destroyer for the Bloods with a damaging 6-9 from 6.2 overs.

It was the opening bowler’s career-best figures with the ball.

Karra was able to chase down the lowly target in the eighth over and with nine wickets in hand.

300 of the best

A stalwart of Mooroopna capped his 300th club appearance in style on Saturday.

Lloyd Payne brought up the milestone in his side’s emphatic D-grade win over Central Park-St Brendan’s.

Payne, who has enjoyed his fair share of career accolades and achievements, no doubt will rate the round 14 triumph up there with some of his finest days in the field.

Batting alongside his partner-in-crime Geoff Wood, the duo put on 148 runs for the opening partnership as Payne notched his 34th career half-century with Mooroopna.

Payne’s long-standing and loyal association with the club stretches back more than two decades in a journey that has seen him hold countless club roles.

D-grade batters score As for tons

Tatura’s Mitch Rowney and Pine Lodge’s Braydon Kearns raised the bat on Saturday as they brought up triple figure scores.

Rowney feasted on the short boundaries at Tatura’s Howley Oval with a blistering 100-run knock, while Kearns blasted 109 from 88 deliveries.

It was Kearns’ seventh ton for Pine Lodge and the 10th of his career.

But it was extra special for Rowney as he brought up his maiden century.
