A surprise upset win in the Edna Harling Shield dominated the final day of Goulburn Valley Playing Area midweek division one action ahead of the Christmas break.

Kyabram handed Shepparton Golf its third loss of the campaign thanks to a 14-82 to 2-58 blitz on the road as bowlers contended with hot conditions throughout the region.

The Bombers’ Mal Williams (33-24) and Joe Greco (28-12) were the standout skips in the round nine encounter.

The Bombers remain locked to second last spot on the ladder despite the impressive win over the premiership fancy.

Golf, on the other hand, was unable to make up ground on Shepparton Park’s stumble against Tatura-Hill Top and sits one point behind Park in second spot.

In other division one hit-outs, Euroa stunned Seymour and ran out to an emphatic 16-81 to 0-57 win.

Euroa made light work of the hosts and cleaned up on all three rinks.

Meanwhile, East Shepparton enjoyed a comfortable win over Rushworth and sits one point out of the top four.

The Eagles skipped away to a 14-85 to 2-67 triumph.

And the Bulldogs handed the ladder leader a surprise 14-81 to 2-54 defeat to remain two points behind Euroa in fourth.

In division four action, Euroa will enter the festive season on top of the ladder thanks to its convincing win over Dookie at home.

The hosts dropped the one rink on their way to a 14-64 to 2-45 victory.
