Junior footballers in Goulburn Murray Junior League were back in action at the weekend, taking to the field for the second round of grading games in the under-16 competition.
Mooroopna enjoyed an 18-point win over Shepparton Swans at Princess Park.
Rhys Osborne kicked three goals for the Cats as the visitors prevailed 11.7 (73) to 8.7 (55) to earn their second win on the trot.
MacKenzie Calleja, Oscar Emanuelli and William Emanuelli kicked two goals each for Mooroopna, while Seth Cormick and Rory Duffy each had a pair of majors for the Swans.
Mooroopna is on top of the under-16 A ladder thanks to its two wins, while the Swans are in fifth spot with two defeats.
Shepp Notre Maroon is still on the hunt for its first win too after falling to Echuca by 41 points.
Ryan Ash and Thomas Mellington had multiple goals for the Bears.
In the under-16 B group, Shepparton United fell to Seymour in a three-point thriller at Euroa’s Memorial Oval.
The Demons battled back from a 19-point deficit at quarter-time, but they couldn’t quite hit the front after a tight last term as they fell 10.6 (66) to 9.9 (63).
Anton Calandro and Leeam Scouller each had three goals for United.
In the under-14 competition, Shepp Notre Bears Gold topped Euroa by 84 points, Shepp Swans were defeated Mooroopna 43 to 18 and Shepp Notre Bears Maroon fell to Echuca Bombers by 11 points.
Shepparton United and Tatura had a bye.
