Mooroopna brushed aside yet another rival at the weekend to maintain its position at the top of the under-16 division one Goulburn Murray Junior League ladder.

It took a stirring second-half performance from the Cats to turn the tide in the round eight encounter against Shepparton-Notre Maroon as they held on by six points.

The home side booted six goals — following a goalless first half — after the main break to run over the top of the Bears at Mooroopna Recreation Reserve.

Noah Williams was influential for the Cats, along with teammates MacKenzie Calleja, Jayden Thorne and Oscar Emanuelli.

The Bears’ Ryan Ash showcased his talents with a best-on display, while Spencer Dickins, Steele Chapman, Zavier Davidson and Jack Mellington contributed with strong efforts.

News photographer Megan Fisher attended the junior football clash and captured plenty of action.
