Wheels of steel of the upper echelon went head-to-head in the region recently.

Round four of the National Wheelchair Basketball League landed in the Goulburn Valley as Manly Wheel Eagles took on Red Dust Heelers in a triple header at Shepparton Sports Stadium on July 13-14.

The Sydney-based Wheel Eagles were simply too strong in each, claiming three wins from three.

Manly’s Bill Dalton and Emmanuel Fuentes Cervantes combined for 53 points in their side’s 59-55 victory in game one, while the former went big with 31 in a second game, 81-77 overtime win.

Latham saved his best effort for last, though, as he racked up 33 points to complement Cervantes’ 30 as the Wheel Eagles completed the clean sweep via a 79-51 triumph.

News photographer Megan Fisher was on hand to snap the action from game one.
