Shepparton Swans’ youth girls side had one star performer who reached a new peak during their Northern Country Women’s League derby win on Sunday.
The penultimate round pitted the Swans against Shepparton United at Kialla Park Recreation Reserve, with Payten Johnston’s stunning eight-goal haul powering Leigh Egan’s outfit to a 10.4 (64) to 2.1 (13) triumph.
Trinity Gullifer and Ellie Armstrong also offered valiant showings for the Swans, while Kieley Lane (two goals) and Leila Creevey were excellent for the Demons.
