United emerged as one of the league’s dominant teams after defeating ladder leader Echuca (its first loss of the year) in round six before the Demons flexed their muscles against Rumba.

Club favourite and stalwart at United Elissa Down featured among the best in her 150th game, kicking a goal for the Demons.

Echuca hosted Nathalia in a top-of-the-table clash.

The match went right down to the wire as the Purples led by three points at the final break.

However, Echuca wasn’t about to lose two matches on the trot and stormed home in the last quarter to claim an important victory 5.3 (33) to 4.1 (25).

Echuca’s Kate Dixon and Nathalia’s Abby Favaro were busy in attack for their respective sides as both players finished with two goals.

Barooga claimed a tight victory over Nagambie in a nail-biter at home.

The Hawks trailed by four points heading into the last term, but a final-quarter goal from Sasha Parish got Barooga over the line to claim its third win of the season.

The final score was 3.4 (22) to 3.2 (20) in Barooga’s favour.

Mansfield continued its dominant start to its debut season on Sunday afternoon at Bonnie Doon, defeating Tatura by 32 points.

It was the Eagles’ sixth win of the year, keeping Mansfield in second place on the ladder.

In the Youth Girls’ competition, Shepparton United defeated Shepparton Swans by 76 points in their round seven clash.

United forward Tabatha Ingham was firing on all cylinders during the match, kicking a game-high six goals for her side.

Demons young gun Zahra Kelly celebrated her 100th game in style thanks to her side’s comfortable win over their cross-town rivals.

Echuca United defeated Nathalia by 75 points to continue its perfect run this season.

The Eagles currently sit in top spot with seven wins from seven games.

Barooga secured a commanding victory over Moama at home, defeating the Magpies by 44 points.
