The 2024 Shepparton International Open sure caused a racket on the courts last week.

Competitors arrived from near and far to contest the tournament and vie for a shot at the total $6000 prize pool on offer at the event, which ran from July 4-7.

In the men’s, hot favourite Nasir Iqbal could not be stopped on a wrecking path to the spoils.

The world number 165 only dropped one game en route to the final, with the Pakistan representative eventually going on to beat Frenchman Matteo Carrouget 11-9, 11-9, 11-6 in the decider.

The women’s title belonged to Macau’s Gigi Yeung after a similarly dominant run.

Yeung cruised past her first four opponents in straight games before meeting Norway’s Madeleine Hylland in the final.

From there, the Yale graduate went on to topple Hylland over four sets, 7-11, 13-11, 11-8, 11-7.

News photographer Rechelle Zammit swung by the courts throughout the tournament’s duration to capture the action.
