Crunch time has arrived in the Goulburn Valley’s answer to the FIFA World Cup.

Shepparton Nations Cup, the tournament tractor-beaming football fans from all creeds and cultures to McEwen Reserve, has wowed fans during the past fortnight.

Spectacular skills, goals and celebrations have been on offer throughout the group stages — including a ridiculous free kick from India’s Baltej Singh — but that has now ended.

The reason? Knockout action is in session.

This week’s semi-finals pits the top four ranked clubs against each other for a shot at the grand final, which will be hosted at McEwen Reserve’s main pitch at 7.30pm on Saturday.

News photographer Rechelle Zammit was pitch side to snap the players in full swing during the India-DR Congo match.
