It was Bear versus Bear and mate against mate on Sunday afternoon.

During Goulburn Murray Junior League’s round six on Sunday, Shepparton-Notre Maroon played Shepparton-Notre Gold at Deakin Reserve in an action-packed clash.

In the end, Gold claimed the bragging rights over their rivals, with young gun Alex Whitlock booting a game-high six goals for the victors.

The final score finished 3.3 (21) to 12.6 (78) in Gold’s favour.

Mooroopna claimed a commanding victory over Shepparton Swans at home.

The Cats broke away after quarter-time to claim a 58-point win.

Kyabram won the battle of the Bombers against Echuca-Murray by 56 points.

Tatura defeated Echuca by 41 points away from home.

Shepparton United had the bye.

Shepp-Notre Gold sits one win clear of second-placed Tatura on the ladder, with four rounds remaining in the home and away season.
