Gallery | Shepparton Park’s ascent towards the finals bracket continues in lower grade bowls action
Before storms seized the region on Sunday, the sun stretched its golden arms across Goulburn Valley Playing Area’s lower divisions in a bumper day for bowls on Saturday.
Division two action had Shepparton Park creep closer to the top four after ousting East Shepparton, firming a 15-82 to 3-66 result on home greens.
Kelvin Rogash’s quartet set the tone with a 30-16 destruction in the first rink and, though East was able to claw back the second and tie the fourth, another hefty Park triumph in the third hoisted it to the chocolates.
Shepparton Golf shot to the top of the pops courtesy of a thumping 16-96 to 2-66 victory over Seymour VRI, while Tatura-Hill Top handed Nagambie its first loss of the season by six shots.
Elsewhere, Seymour etched its name into the winners’ column for the second time, beating Tallygaroopna 15-83 to 3-74.
News photographer Megan Fisher swung by to snap the players in full flight during the Park-East match.
