Following a short hiatus the Edna Harling Shield roared back into action on Tuesday.

Wet weather and a surprise loss headlined the round five action, with Shepparton Park suffering its maiden defeat of the midweek Goulburn Valley Playing Area campaign.

Shepparton Park hosted Kyabram in overcast and rainy conditions and it was the away side that handled the wetter conditions better as it ran out to a 14-72 to 2-61 triumph.

Kyabram skip Maria Greco enjoyed a crucial 27-16 win over Graeme Myers, while Marg Thorne (26-22) ensured the host walked away with some points.

The loss drops Park to second spot on the ladder and Shepparton Golf assumes top spot with a three-point buffer.

Shepparton Golf also suffered its maiden loss of the campaign.

Seymour proved a worthy opponent and marched its way to a 12-80 to 4-75 triumph.

Elsewhere, East Shepparton defeated Euroa by five shots and Tatura-Hill Top edged out Rushworth in a gripping 12-76 to 4-75 win.
