Gallery | Tallygaroopna on division two board after first win of season in lower bowls
Tallygaroopna has held a defiant Shepparton Park at bay during round four of Goulburn Valley Playing Area division two bowls.
On Saturday afternoon, the Redlegs got off to a bright start on their home deck thanks to Robert Jones, Grant Peters, Tony Rendina and skipper Peter Emanuelli who claimed the first rink 25-17.
The second rink followed in a similar fashion as Tally skipper Joey Lia and his merry men outbowled Shepparton Park again, claiming a 24-17 win.
Having come close on the first two rinks, Shepparton Park was determined to make its mark in rink three, as skipper Kelvin Rogash and his troops tried to outsmart Redlegs skipper Brett Wright and his soldiers.
Unfortunately for the away side, Tally proved themselves too strong once again and claimed a 22-20 victory.
Shepparton Park got a small slice of revenge in the fourth rink, winning 17-19, however, Tallgaroopna claimed the victory 16-88 to 2-73.
The result was Tally’s first win of the season, which keeps them off the bottom of the ladder, in seventh place.
Shepparton Park sits one higher in sixth.
In other division two matches, in the battle for Seymour, Seymour VRI claimed the bragging rights, defeating Seymour 16-91 to 2-70.
Nagambie defeated Shepparton Golf 16-86 to 2-80 and East Shepparton beat Tatura-Hill Top 14-86 to 4-84.
