While some summer sports took a break over the Australia Day long weekend bowls rolled on throughout the Goulburn Valley Playing Area.
In division six, a travelling Violet Town outfit clinched a thrilling 14-59 to 2-58 victory over Shepparton Golf to consolidate its top four placing.
Despite Brian McInneny’s quartet romping to an eight-shot win for Golf in the first rink, Violet Town came home with a wet sail to trump the host and keep it rooted at the ladder’s foot.
