Girgarre has triumphed over Undera in round four of Kyabram District Tennis Association, while Kyvalley Black emerged victorious in the Kyvalley derby, narrowly beating Kyvalley Red.

Undera got off to a strong start in the first match of the game, the men’s doubles, with James Cocca and Rob Slee defeating Girgarre 8-2.

However, Girgarre wasn’t going to let that stop it as Dana Boyle and Ella Forde took down Sharni Abbate and Alex Phillips in the first women’s doubles, claiming an emphatic 8-1 victory.

The arm wrestle continued in the men’s singles as Girgarre took wins in both, John Forde slayed Dale Phillips in the first, while Cameron Kelley claimed victory over James Cocca in a much closer match 6-3.

The closest match of the day was the second men’s doubles in which Undera narrowly beat out Girgarre 8-6.

Undera ultimately won the day, defeating Girgarre six sets 61 games to four sets 42 games.

Meanwhile, at Kyvalley, Red got off to a hot start, taking the opening match, the men’s doubles eight sets to five.

Yet, much like Girgarre, Black replied in kind with a sweep in the women’s doubles, Melissa Williams and Raelene Maskell dominating Fiona Owen and Ayden King 8-0.

Both men’s singles matches came down to the wire with Red showing just enough class to snatch both matches 6-5.

The second men’s doubles match was the tightest of the day, Red’s Jack Forde and Matt Mann edging out Ryan Cooper and Michael Maskell 8-7.

Despite winning less sets, Kyvalley Black won the day 4-6, claiming 61 games to 53 to emerge victorious.
