At the Tatong Hall, the grand finals for A-grade and A-reserve were held in front of an enthralled audience on Wendesday, September 25.

Goannas 4 Tigers 1:

In A-grade the Goannas’ Keith and Joel Bickerton triumphed against determined runners-up, the Tigers’ Paul and Wesley Shea.

The four rubbers-to-one score was not quickly gained with three games going to deciding third sets.

While the Goannas were too strong overall, the promising young Shea’s determination and skill saw him win the final singles rubber against Keith Bickerton.

Eagles 3 Bombers 2:

There was a closer result in the A-reserve grand final when the Eagles’ Shaun Murphy and Jim Renkin defeated the Bombers’ Colin Exton and Melissa Mounsey, three rubbers to two.

Murphy won both of his singles rubbers, and Exton and Renkin won a singles each.

The Bombers duo of Exton and Mounsey won the doubles to secure the premiership.

The end-of-season presentation night will be held at the Tatong Tavern on Wednesday, October 2, with players and their families invited to celebrate another successful season of rural table tennis.
