The finalists for the Swanpool and District Table Tennis Association winter season have been decided.
A-grade:
Goannas 4, Swans 1:
The Goannas’ Keith and Joel Bickerton defeated the Swans’ Damian Young and Chris Seeley, scoring four rubbers to one.
Keith Bickerton won both of his singles rubbers, and Joel Bickerton and Young won a singles each to kick off proceedings.
The Goannas then won the doubles to secure the win.
Tigers 4, Emus 1:
In the second preliminary final, the Tigers’ Paul and Wesley Shea defeated the Emus’ Rob Erskine and Dheeraj, again with a score of four rubbers to 1.
Wesley Shea won both of his singles rubbers, and Paul Shea and Erskine won a single each, with The Tigers winning to secure the win.
The A-grade grand final will be at Tatong Hall between the Goannas and the Tigers on Monday night.
A-reserve:
The A-reserve preliminary finals were played last Wednesday, with the Eagles’ Shaun Murphy and Jim Renkin defeating the Wombats’ Andrew Marriott and Henry Thorne, three rubbers to two.
Murphy won his two singles rubbers, and Marriott and Renkin won a singles each, with the Wombats winning the doubles to get the win.
The second match between the Bombers and the Turtles was forfeited due to illness of a player.
The A-reserve grand final will also be played at Tatong on Monday night.
