It’s all systems go at Goulburn Valley Junior Motorcycle Club, which is set to host round four of the Northern Regions Series this weekend.

More than 270 riders from Victoria and interstate are expected to take to the tracks at the Shepparton-based club this Sunday.

GVJMC president Matt Jobling said the event was easily the biggest on the calendar for the club this season.

“It’s a massive event, the gate numbers so far are looking really good, we’ll probably get a crowd of 800 or so on Sunday,” he said.

“We’re expecting 270 riders from across Victoria and interstate, with some real good-quality racing to take place.

“Some of the bigger names in junior racing will take part, the sort of names you’ll be seeing later in life internationally involved in racing.”

The event will cater for the junior recreation rider right up to the senior riders, with all-day action to get under way on Sunday at 9am.

After struggling for committee members earlier this year, Jobling said vital work from volunteers and club members in recent months had put them in good stead going forward.

“The club is going really well, a significant amount of time and money has been spent on the facility this year and the condition of the track has improved considerably,” Jobling said.

“We’re definitely heading in the right direction, an event like this will bring great numbers to the community.”
