AFL Goulburn Murray has been rocked by a shock resignation one month out from September action.

Goulburn Valley League operations manager Kyle Povah resigned effective immediately last week, citing personal reasons for his abrupt departure.

An email was sent out to league clubs on Friday afternoon that notified them of Povah’s immediate departure.

Povah joined the Kialla-based team in April and spent less than four months in the role.

AFL Goulburn Murray head of operations Jo Spencer said Povah’s decision to step aside from the administrative position was due to personal circumstances.

“The decision was made by Kyle due to personal reasons,” Spencer said.

Spencer stressed Povah’s departure, on the eve of finals, would not cause disruptions.

She said Trent Mills, who joined AFLGM in June, would take on elevated responsibilities within the team.

Mills currently oversees the operations of the Northern Country Women’s League and provides administration assistance to the GVL.
