The kids are up and running in the Goulburn Valley League after the under-18 football competition got into full gear at the weekend.

Shepparton Swans and Euroa played out the most compelling clash at Princess Park, with three goals from Rory Duffy proving pivotal in a narrow 7.12 (54) to 7.7 (49) win for the home side.

There was good news for the locals at Deakin Reserve, with Shepparton coasting to a 57-point victory over Mansfield.

Rochester enjoyed multiple enormous wins on the road at Benalla and the junior boys delivered in kind, registering a 105-point thrashing of the Saints.

Echuca started its premiership defence in fine form at Victoria Park, accounting for Shepparton United by 42 points.

Seymour’s juniors made a gigantic statement about the club’s depth at Tatura Park, annihilating the Bulldogs to the tune of 143 points.

In a rare afternoon slot for the juniors, Mooroopna took the points home from Kyabram Recreation Reserve after knocking over the Bombers in a 20-point triumph.
