Flood-affected country football and netball clubs could benefit from a $2.5 million Victorian Government grants program, with applications now open.
The Country Football and Netball Program is open to rural, regional and outer metropolitan councils, with grants of up to $250,000 available to benefit their clubs.
The funding can be used on projects such as new lighting, court and oval upgrades and building or redeveloping pavilions.
Regional clubs impacted by the recent floods or those in communities experiencing socio-economic disadvantage, strong population growth or other economic challenges are strongly encouraged to approach their local council to apply for the funding.
“Country football and netball clubs are the lifeblood of Victorian communities and we’re supporting them with the infrastructure they need to take on more players, host more events and draw bigger crowds, creating a real buzz in the community and boosting local economies,” Community Sport Minister Ros Spence said.
In partnership with the AFL, AFL Victoria and Netball Victoria, the program has invested more than $35 million statewide since 2005.
This year’s program has increased the maximum grant amount from previous rounds to help deliver important infrastructure.
Applications close on March 27.
