Mooroopna has delivered a finals masterclass with a blistering 4-1 triumph over Shepparton Strikers in the Goulburn Valley Hockey Association B-women’s grand final.

It was a deserved reward for Mooroopna, which enjoyed a brilliant unbeaten campaign in 2022 and recorded 14 wins and one draw.

A resounding 12-0 win over Euroa in the semi-final further cemented Mooroopna’s flag favouritism and the side did not disappoint on the big stage.

Lauren Varapidio, Stephanie Cardamone, Mia Ponting and Abigail Vaivars were the goal scorers for Mooroopna, while Raechel Gardiner was the sole scorer for Strikers.

News’ photographer Rechelle Zammit was at McEwen Reserve at the weekend to capture plenty of hockey grand final action.
