Echuca-Moama fired seven goals past Mooroopna in an emphatic A-grade victory at Echuca College at the weekend.

The River Rats’ 7-1 win was their most comprehensive of the season, helping them to win number four in the Goulburn Valley Hockey Association in their final home game of the 2022 season.

The victory all but secures a GVHA finals berth for Echuca-Moama, which now sits three games clear of fourth-placed Mooroopna with three games to play.

A third-placed ranking will be enough for qualification, and a win against SYC this weekend will confirm its status as a finalist.

Should it qualify, it won’t be the only River Rats outfit in a finals series.

Echuca-Moama also punched its ticket to B-grade finals with a 2-0 win over Mooroopna, making it now a mathematical impossibility to miss out.

In the under-17s, braces to Leah Kerr and Lucas Kell inspired the River Rats to an impressive 4-0 win, with Elyse Kerr and Scott Park also prominent around the field.

The under-14 clash between Echuca-Moama and Mooroopna-Benalla couldn’t be split, with both sides walking away with premiership points after a 2-2 draw.

Will Kerr and Zephan Hansley converted for the River Rats, while Makayla Pendlebury was one of the best on the field.
