Shepparton United’s perfect record will be tested this weekend when the club’s A-grade netballers face a dangerous Euroa side.

The Dees’ latest triumph — a 66-39 thumping of Rochester — has reminded Goulburn Valley League competitors they’re a force to be reckoned with.

Laura Cole’s 100th match was a superb one for the Dees’ youngster last weekend, while star goaler Jessie Barnes looked threatening as always in the attacking ring.

United mentor Kara Blizzard said despite her side’s strong start, the challenges were sure to come thick and fast as the season progressed.

“We’re going pretty well, that’s not not to say things won’t change — and that’s not being negative, the comp only gets better from here as players sort out combos and things like that,” she said.

United’s attacking options will have to be at their best this weekend, faced with the challenge of a powerful Euroa defence in Ellie Warnock and Tylah Marchbank.

The two combined brilliantly last weekend to see off Shepparton Swans 47-26.

Two wins on the trot, including a stunning 43-38 upset win over Seymour, has the Magpies comfortably perched in fourth, with three wins and one loss.

“It’ll be interesting to see, it’s a bit of an unknown one for us,” Blizzard said of the Euroa clash.

“We always enjoy going over to Euroa, they’re a great club and I’m sure it’ll be a great game.”

The Dees will be without the services of star defender Zoe Davies again this weekend, who has been named as an emergency for Collingwood.

In other action, Di Hanslow’s Mooroopna side will come up against a winless Tatura, while Shepparton Swans will hope to atone for a comprehensive loss to Euroa in a round five meeting with Kyabram.

Shepparton will be eager to collect a third straight win when it meets Mansfield, while an energised Benalla side could be in for a fourth straight win if things go its way against Rochester.
