Goulburn Valley League announced its new-look broadcasting arrangements on Thursday afternoon, with Geelong-based multi-media company Red Onion Creative committing to livestreaming one game of senior football and one game of A-grade netball each round.
It comes after it was announced earlier in the week the league had ended its three-decade partnership with community radio broadcaster ONE FM.
Board chairman David Roff said the league was excited to move forward with Red Onion Creative and provide a different style of broadcasting to fans.
“We are looking forward to working with the team at Red Onion Creative to be able to deliver weekly livestreams of both football and netball games,” Roff said.
“We are excited about the move and know that our games will now be more accessible to people far and wide.”
Along with the one game a week, all senior and A-grade finals will be streamed, as well as all four football and five netball grand finals.
Fans will be able to find all streams on the league’s website, with links also available across all four of the league’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn).
Red Onion Creative is involved with a number of other leagues across Victoria, including AFL Barwon, AFL Goldfields, AFL South East, AFL Central Victoria, AFL Central Murray, Geelong Football Netball League, Ballarat Football Netball League, Bendigo Football Netball League and Essendon District Football Netball League.
The company also has a partnership with AFL club Geelong and its VFL affiliate.
Along with announcing its broadcast partner for the upcoming season, the league also welcomed Shepparton Club as its exclusive livestream partner.
Roff said the league was thankful to have Shepparton Club on board as it prepared to deliver a livestreaming service free of charge to clubs and supporters.
“We thank the Shepparton Club board, general manager Wayne Sutton and the team and look forward to working with them in order to bring livestreaming of games each week at no cost to our clubs or supporters,” he said.
Round one of the league begins on April 9.
