GVL Data | Cricelli’s absurd stat line the best of the round

Absurd: Mitch Cricelli's performance against Shepparton United was worth 238 ranking points. Photo: Bruce Povey

Mitch Cricelli delivered a sensational performance for Rochester at the weekend, with the latest effort in an already impressive season earning him the GVL Data player of the round nod.

The high-flying ruckman notched an equal game-high 37 disposals, with 23 of those being contested, which was the most collected by any player on the ground.

Cricelli was also the only player to collect more than 10 clearances, with his 13 being five more than the eight that superstar teammate Joe Atley could muster as the next best.

An emerging talent, Cricelli also claimed the most marks of any player with 13 and most inside-50s with nine. The Tiger racked up 11 intercept possessions, seven intercept marks and five contested marks, again the best of everyone.

Delivering 44 hit-outs, five tackles, four one-percenters, and five rebound-50s, the star showcased his ability in every area of the ground as the best player afield.

Five score involvements and a goal capped off an extraordinary effort in a losing side, as Rochester’s inaccurate score of 5.20 (50) saw it fall to Shepparton United by 13 points, despite dominating the match.

The remarkable stat line from Cricelli was worth a scarcely believable 238 ranking points, easily the highest recorded in the Goulburn Valley League this season and the only score above 200.
