Kirkby kicked 10.5 and collected 22 marks — five of those contested — to go with his 24 disposals.

His 10 goals take him to 38 for the season and he now sits second on the goal-kicking list behind Mooroopna’s Chris Nield.

Kirkby leads the competition for total marks with 106.

Kyabram star Lachie Smith is close behind on 39 contested marks for the year.

Smith, who has the ability to play at both ends of the ground, averages 3.5 per game and he sits second for total marks with 96.

Interestingly, the multiple-premiership Bomber has 65 intercept marks for the season and leads his rivals in that column.

Meanwhile, Seymour forward Michael Hartley has an average of 3.8 contested marks per game from his six appearances in 2022.

The former AFL talent, who played predominately down back at the elite level, pulled in seven contested marks in round seven.

Mansfield forwards Ben Christopher (2.7) and Cameron Arnold (2.8) have both had their fair share of contested grabs.

Christopher has racked up 30 in total from 11 games, while Arnold has been able to chalk up 14 from five games.

Lastly, Benalla ruckman and VFL star Tom Downie averages eight contested marks from his two appearances.

Downie had seven and nine contested marks in his matches against Mansfield and Shepparton Swans respectively.
