Echuca is aiming to put the demons of its two-goal defeat to Euroa behind them when it hosts Tatura at Victoria Park, which also serves as an opportunity to officially punch its ticket to GVL finals.
The fifth-placed Murray Bombers have also received a timely inclusion for the round 14 match up against the Bulldogs, welcoming defender Bridget Byrne back to the line-up as Echuca hits full strength on the run in to finals.
Echuca was 26-goal victors over Tatura in round seven, and Murray Bombers’ coach Steph Vick is looking at the clash as a yardstick of her side’s progress.
“This weekend we’re looking at lining up full strength which hasn’t happened for weeks and weeks,” Vick said.
“We’re pretty excited to all be back on court.
“We had a good win last time. I’m hoping we’ve built on that performance and we can go out and have another good result.”
Vick admitted a slow start against Euroa in round 13 was the killer for Echuca, but stated her side now knows what it will take to knock off another top six.
“We were a little bit slow to start against Euroa,” Vick said.
“Unfortunately, we had to work hard to reel them back in and to lose narrowly was disappointing.
“In the last half of that game, we were displaying the kind of netball we need to start off with.
“That’s just bringing that 100 per cent intensity and making sure that we’re ball side all the time and we’re committing to our drives.”
Echuca and Tatura do battle at Victoria Park from 1:30pm on Saturday.
