Euroa was made to overcome a gallant Tatura on Saturday to maintain its pressure on ladder-leader Seymour.

The Magpies were made to work extremely hard in the first half against their plucky opponents but managed to chalk up a 21-goal win to remain second on the Goulburn Valley League A-grade ladder.

Tatura came out firing in the first term at Memorial Oval and cranked up the heat on the second-placed Magpies.

The visitors applied plenty of pressure across the court, with versatile midcourter and defender Molly Kennedy leading from the front.

Charlotte Thomas was able to cap off Tatura’s defensive work in goals and shot superbly in the first half.

At the main break it was Euroa who held a slim lead, 24-22.

But like all good sides do, the Magpies steadied in the second half to notch up their ninth win of the campaign.

Goaler Karly Wappett was a standout all day, helping lead the turnaround after half-time.

Wappett worked tirelessly to pencil in 45 of Euroa’s 57 goals.

Kellie Davidson was judged best-on for the host and led from the front in the midcourt.

Eliza Hoare contributed strongly in wing attack, while defender Bridget Hill did her best to combat Tatura’s attacking end.
