Euroa will be looking to spoil a Numurkah finals berth when the two sides meet on Saturday.

With the final round of the Cricket Shepparton Haisman Shield season now upon us, Euroa will enter the contest with a truckload of confidence following its tense loss last week.

For Euroa, finals are out of reach, with a record of 3-2-8 leaving it 23 points out of the six.

However, for Numurkah, the race for a spot in the post-season is well and truly alive.

The Blues currently sit in seventh on the ladder, three points behind Northerners and five behind Nagambie.

With Northerners playing undefeated Waaia and Nagambie taking on Katandra, a win is a must for Numurkah to sneak into the six, with hopes and eyes on the Lakers and Eagles matches.

For Euroa, the end of the season is about finishing strongly and after taking Northerners all the way to the last over last weekend, the Magpies will be confident they can end Numurkah’s campaign.

Magpies coach Andrew Squires will be hoping to replicate his 89-run knock last week, while Numurkah will be keen to put in a much better performance than last round against Nagambie.

Saturday’s game between Euroa and Numurkah will take place at 12.30pm at Euroa Friendly Society Recreation Reserve.
