A score of 57 not out from Darshana Lokuhettige was the highlight of a disappointing batting performance from United, which has not managed to click at the crease this season.

This great bowling display held the home side to 117, giving Karramomus the win and breathing space over their last-placed rival.

Karramomus captain Mitch McGrath said it was a cracking game.

“It was nail-biting in the end, we took control for the majority of the game,” McGrath said.

McGrath said United batter Darshana Lokuhettige “nearly took the game away” with his score of 57 not out, however, the Bloods just held on.

“We stuck to our plans and never gave up,” he said.

“We want to finish the season off well, we have two games to finish strong.”

He said with the season coming to a close it’s about “playing our game” and was not worried about the ladder position.

The win leaves Karramomus in 12th spot, 12 points above Shepparton United.
