Hockey Victoria Roadshow descends on Benalla and surrounds

The Benalla Hockey Club is bringing the Hockey Victoria Hockey Roadshow to primary schools in Benalla, Broken Creek and Violet Town in the coming weeks.

The roadshow hit town on Monday, February 20, when year 1 and 2 students at Benalla P-12 College enjoyed learning how to be “Hockey Ready!” and zoomed around dribbling their hockey ball “eggs”.

Tuesday, February 21, saw the year 5 and 6 students hone their skills, with games of “Hoctopus” and “Number Hockey”.

Tthe roadshow will visit Peranbin and Broken Creek primary schools and the Australian Christian College, Hume, on Friday. St Joseph’s Primary School in Benalla will host the hockey coaches next Wednesday and Thursday.

All ages and abilities are welcome to have a go at hockey at Benalla Hockey Club’s come-and-try afternoon next Thursday, March 2. A session for kids aged five to 12 will run from 4.30pm to 5.30pm, while teens and adults can have a go from 6pm to 7pm.

All equipment is provided, so bring a drink and a hat along to Benalla’s Rupe Cheetham Hockey Field at Churchill Reserve, on the corner of Waller and Margaret streets.
