Easter may be a time for mercy, but no mercy was given by Cobram Tigers, who defeated their arch-rivals Barooga in the first game of the 2024 football season.

What looked like a proper tussle at the main break soon gave way as inaccurate goal-kicking cost the Hawks a genuine shot in the third term, with Cobram taking the chocolates over its local rival 16.9 (105) to 7.16 (58).

The victory was made even more special as the Cobram football club held a reunion for its 1974 and 1984 premiership teams.
